History

Paatz Viernau GmbH has developed into a renowned manufacturer without which the mechanical engineering and automotive industries would be hard to imagine.
Today the company is part of the Heller Group based in Nürtingen (Baden-Württemberg), a world-leading manufacturer of advanced machine tools.

Our History:

2020
As the year turns, the management board changes: Christian Kurtenbach and Klaus Winkler take over the management of Paatz Viernau GmbH.

2019
To secure a firm base and market position for the company, a comprehensive investment and restructuring program is launched.

2018
Paatz Viernau GmbH with its 120 employees is taken over by the Heller Group.

2017
After many ups and downs, the company has to declare bankruptcy.

1990
The company is reformed as Paatz Viernau GmbH, with 560 employees, of which 40 are apprentices.

1972
The company is assigned to the Heckert State Holding and thus socialized for good.

1966
The product portfolio is expanded to include automated elements.

1960
Paatz expands its manufacturing facilities and moves to Viernau where the company is still based today.

1957
With state involvement beginning, the number of employees has risen to 128.

1948
The company staff is 102 strong, seven of which are apprentices.

1945
Reconstruction begins with 17 employees – manufacture of everyday goods, later turning lathes for mechanics and custom machinery with drilling and milling units are added.

1940
War years with 65 employees.

1933
The product portfolio is altered by the introduction of the construction and manufacture of multi-spindle drill heads – termed »THE« means of rationalization of the future.

1919
Hunting guns are added, the number of employees rises to 50.

1900
With 15 employees, sporting pistols are now also being produced.

1890
founded as »Bernhard Paatz Waffenfabrik«, an arms manufacturer, in Zella-Mehlis.
